Zodiac Mirror - Large white

The frame of the Zodiac mirror is made up of two oblong sausages that evoke the inflatable boat from which it bears its name. At first glance, this frame appears to be made of a flexible material, like plastic that has been inflated. It is actually made of ultra-shiny rigid ceramic: an astonishing visual effect! The frame of the Zodiac mirror appears complete thanks to the inverted reflection of one half of its ring on the surface of the mirror. The Zodiac mirror plays with its reflective surface to complete the "sausage" from which it is made. Zodiac is an object to look at and touch in order to fully appreciate the exceptional play of materials.

The Zodiac mirror is destabilizing and challenges the viewer: we immediately wonder what material it is made of. Zodiac perfectly illustrates the work of French designer Jean-Baptiste Fastrez. For him, objects must have character and provoke astonishment, even if it means disturbing.
